To lower the level on the Assiniboine River to access the walkways, further use of the Portage Diversion would likely have to be looked at. During our coverage of this years flood, those affected pointed out that once the crest passed Winnipeg, media would forget about the area and the focus would return to the provincial capital. It would appear that their prediction may be coming true. With the Portage Diversion still flowing, The Hoop and Holler went out to Delta to see what was going on. While some may be advocating the return of the river walks in Winnipeg, others are working hard to protect property on Lake Manitoba from flooding.
